Financial Officer’s Report for the Year Ending 3rd May 2026

GUG is a student organisation that serves as the sole voice of Gozitan youths from various backgrounds, each bringing their own experiences.

From a financial aspect, the financial year 2025–2026 saw the entity register a profit of €8,468.73. This was generated from various events, sponsorships, and membership uptake, which helped the entity register total revenue of €39,349.00, with total expenditure amounting to €30,880.27. The profit registered can be attributed to the increase in total revenue, achieved mainly through an increase in the sponsorship base and total memberships.

The results obtained from the past financial and administrative year have helped improve the financial health of the entity. This enables the next executive to organise better events, for which the entity is well known, as well as educational activities and initiatives that support Gozitan students.

Throughout the year, together with various colleagues from the executive, whom I thank wholeheartedly for their support, GUG collaborated with other entities with positive results. Among these collaborations, GUG managed to increase its sponsorship base to three times that of the previous year. I take this opportunity to thank all our sponsors, who are too many to mention individually, for their financial support.

As a student organisation, we hope to continue holding discussions with various stakeholders and students to further the interests of Gozitan students studying in tertiary institutions in Malta. We also aim to build stronger understanding and bridges between stakeholders and students.

This was my first and last executive report, and I can proudly say that I had the honour of forming part of the longest continuing voice for Gozitan students.

I hope that future executives continue to build on the successes achieved by past administrations. I would like to conclude my report by wishing those elected after us every success in continuing to strengthen GUG as a strong student union for Gozitan students.
