AGM August 2017

The Gozo University Group held its AGM on the 27th of August 2017 which was held at the Ministry of Gozo. During this meeting the amendments to the current statute were approved and the new executive was elected. A roundup of the past year’s events was also made.

During the AGM, which was chaired by Loradine, the previous executive members reported on their respective roles and events carried out throughout the year; events which were challenging but all successful. The President, Maria Dimech, spoke of the importance of team work which is the main tool to tackle any problem. Dimech is in her second term as President of the organisation. She believes that by being President for the second time, she can learn from her past experiences and lead the GUG with greater confidence.

The new logo of the organisation was confirmed during the AGM. This new logo commemorates the 30th anniversary since the foundation of the orgnisation in 1987.

Manuel Xuereb, Chloe Portelli, Loradine Pisani and Rebekah Attard were appointed  positions on the Vigilance Board. Since there were no candidates contesting for the same position within the executive, no elections were needed. The GUG’s new executive is made up by Maria Dimech as President, Rachel Galea as Vice President, Jessica Said as Executive Secretary, Jasmine Buttigieg as Information Secretary, Malcolm Dimech as Events Officer, Joseph Mifsud as Education Officer, Nicole Debrincat as Public Relations Officer, Owen Teuma as Social Policy Officer, Maria Azzopardi as Financial Officer, Chris Merieca as Marketing Officer and Renee Formosa as International Officer.
